THEY CHANGE REGIMES MORE OFTEN THAN WE CHANGE CLOTHES

Minneapolis, MN (October 12, 2004)-- What is Beauty? What does it mean to have it, to desire it, to acquire it… to take it? Five Americans find themselves trapped in comfort and imprisoned by luxury when violence breaks out near the seaside resort they are staying at. As the insurrection moves closer, we discover that good taste can have deadly consequences. Inspired by the work of playwright and historian Charles Mee, Jr., Beautiful Things is a new workshopped play created by nimbus that examines the idea that “if you wish to have high culture, you must have leisure, if you would have leisure, you must have excess wealth. If you would have excess wealth, you must exploit someone.” And what would life be like if there was nothing beautiful, nothing extraordinary? Beautiful Things will be presented at the Minneapolis Theater Garage, 2000 Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis. Performances are as follows: Friday, November 5- 8 p.m. Saturday, November 6- 8 p.m. Sunday, November 7- 7 p.m. Friday, November 12- 8 p.m. Saturday, November 13- 8 p.m. Sunday, November 14- 7 p.m. Friday, November 19- 8 p.m. Saturday, November 20- 8 p.m. Sunday, November 21- 7 p.m. Tickets are $14.00, $18.00 to the opening night performance and gala.
